WHO'S WHO AND WHO WAS WHO in the old days.

Under the international Ibiza family we mean those who are or were friends during the golden Ibiza days of the 1960's and 1970's until the early eighties or those who knew each other. Our list here is far from being complete but, the Who's Who and Was list (See under) shall be updated.

SNOWY - Snowy Smith runned the bar La Manana with partner Roy.

WAUNA's Bar - Wauna Paul . Ex-actress,producer,manager runned Wauna's bar and sometimes with her friend Princess Indy. One of the early hot spots in Ibiza , specially for the international incrowd.

PETE & BRITT - Peter and Britt Ross, pub pioneers i.e. the George & Dragon in Ibiza and later the Lord Nelson bar in Figueretas.

CLIVE. Clive Crocker founder of Clive's bar at la marina, one of the popular
bars on the front line of Ibiza port in the old days and the after days.

LIZ and LUIS, Luis Cardona was the owner of the legendary insiders bar Toto's bar.

CIRILLO. Runned the whiskey bar Saboy's later changed in to Savoy on the port of Ibiza town.

ISA and EMILIO. Isa Schillinger runned the Delfin Verde restaurant with husband Emilio on the port of Ibiza town. One of the better and more chique places of the old days.

JUANITO. Juanito Bahia, runned the famous chicken restaurant Bar restaurante Bahia on the port with wife, son and two daughters.

PEPITA. Runned restaurante Es Quinques in the calle Mayor in the old days.

MARIANO.Mariano and wife, son Juan Vicente and daughter Margarita were the people behind Mariano's bar. Probably the most famous local coffee hang out in calle Mayor over the years.

JUANITO and MARUJA. Owners of the legendary lecheria La Bomba at the port of Ibiza town. The best and only real quality yoghurt factory in town. From generation to generation and still going strong. A place that has not lost any of its tradition.

PERSONALITIES AND IBIZA LEGENDS.

STEVE. Steve Seley - american writer and longtime Ibiza legend and resident since the 50's. If you did not know Steve, you did'nt know much.

MARTY. Martin Healey - always on bear feet walking around the island, friend of Steve and best friend of Hugh Heffner of Playboy.When Hugh offered him the job of his life,Marty said, Hugh I wont work.

ABEL. Abel Matutes , banker, politician, ex-minister of foreign affairs, consultant, entrepreneur and also occupied other functions and activities. He has always played important roles on and for Ibiza as well as internationally.

SYDNEY. Lord Sydney. Child prodigy and pioneer communication expert, promotor,entrepreneur and artist. Son of the island. Started all his careers on Ibiza during the old days and was one of the early promotors of the island, also represented many people on Ibiza and internationally.His Ibiza paintings and drawings are sold for lots of money nowadays.

ISIDORO. Isidoro Macabich. Famous priest and poet. Passed away in 1973. He wrote and said; Ibiza exists out 3 types of locals. Son's of fishermen, Son's of farmers and son's of bitches.

TERRY. Terry-Thomas British comedy star who lived on Ibiza for many years with wife Belinda.

DENHOLM. Denholm Elliot. British international actor who lived on Ibiza for many years

with Suzy.

PETER. Peter Kinsley. British writer and ex-fleet street journalist and old Ibiza regular. Old friend of the international Ibiza in crowd. Wrote one of best ever in crowd books on Ibiza about the golden 1960's and 70's.

JOHN ANTHONY. John Anthony West. Writer/author/lecturer/scholar and guide. Pythagorean, leading authority and proponent of the "symbolistic" school of Egyptology. Lived and spent time on Ibiza from 1958 onwards.

ERNESTO. Ernesto Ehrenfeld. International art dealer and art representative who lived for many years above the Delfin verde at la marina, friend of many artists on the island.

RICARDO URGELL and wife Maria. Ricardo is Founder/Owner of the PACHA night club (the oldest) and PACHA GROUP and franchise with his brother PITI.Great Ibiza people with a great philosophy.

JACQUES. Jacques Boersma a.k.a. Alain Teister. Was a brillant Dutch painter and artist. Old Ibiza regular who use to hang out with the elite and artists of the 1960's and 70's days.

PEP ROSELLO.Ibiza nightclub owner since 1963.
Founded SPACE discotheque in 1989 and still going strong.

CRAZY TONY. Antonio Torres. Artist painter from Ibiza and probably the most famous Ibicenco painter. Antonio Torres was friends with most of the international elite artists of the early days and loved shaking hands non stop with his friends and colleagues. A great artist who's works are much in demand and hard to get. He did some amazing paintings and drawings of old Ibiza. Some of his best ones include those of Ibiza' s old town D'Alt vila.

TRUUS. Lady Adriana Klipping. International public relations woman and piano virtuoso. Also owned a popular in crowd restaurant in the Calle de la Virgin in the old days which became a cozy place for elite visitors, artists and boehmians. Truus was known for her good work and assistance to many people as well as to the island.

ERIK. Erik K. De Vries. Dutch televison pioneer, producer, writer, director and consultant. Advisor to many respected people, was the first tv camera person for Phillips Netherlands .

NANCY. Nancy Maniscalco Miracle. Writer/artist. Daughter of Marilyn Monroe. Living between several continents and Ibiza goer of the later older days. Friendly with several old Ibiza in crowd people/artists. President of the Marilyn Monroe Foundation and producer of stageplays.

LEEN. Leen Valkenier. Was a famous dutch TV writer and created the famous Dutch tv topper serie The Fabeltjeskrant during many years and which was sold all over the planet .Lived in Dalt vila and later in the country side.

POCHOLO.Jose Maria Martinez Bordiu y Basso XVII Baron de Gotor. Media and nightlife personality and ex-DJ of the Pacha Clubs.Economist and empresario.Once married to Sonsoles Suarez
daughter of ex-president Adolfo Suarez.

ANGEL NIETO. Angel Nieto Roldan.Multiple Grand Prix motorcycle champion.One of the most successful of all time.
90 Grand Prix Victories. Friend of the other old Ibiza legends.

CURRO. Fransisco "Curro" De Utrilla Sanchez de Canette. Ibiza event organizer, promoter and manager. Owner of the old Ibiza bullring in the 1960's and 1970's (Plaza de toros) brought many bullfighters as well as singers and artists to Ibiza during the old days. Bob Marley also did his show there. Old friend of i.e. Diodoro Canorea big bullfight impressario and plaza owner of Sevilla as well as Abel Matutes, Lord Sydney and El Cordobes.

HANS. Hans Snoek. Dutch dance pioneer. Creator of the famous Scapino ballet and other respected projects in the Netherlands. She was a Ibiza regular and part of the artistic elite of the old days. She mainly lived on Formentera with her husband TV pioneer Erik De Vries.

GERHARD-JAN. Gerhard-Jan Toonder. Writer and much more. Brother of Maarten Toonder. Lived on Ibiza and promoted the island to the world. Was part of the old in crowd of Ibiza in the fifties

RENEE. Tits Renee -a.k.a. Mama Love. She was part of the incrowd during the happy days and known for carrying a real snake around her neck. Later she would expand her gift for fortune telling to the rich and famous Internationally and tried starting a wedding service on the island.

PAT. Pat Crazy (her real name) South African batik artist who owned a boutique in the Calle de la Virgin during the old days with her girlfriend Kim. A wild but multi-talented woman.

PAUL. Paul George. Famous for spending lot's of money during the old peseta days and for drinking a little 2 much. Owned houses all over but, always stayed in a Hotel at the port of Ibiza town. His greatest pleasures apart from the above was spending time with Wauna at her bar and having Hamburgers at Sam's hamburgers place as well as having Peppersteaks with Lord Sydney and Orson Welles at the San Telmo.

TRISTAN. Tristan Jones. Famous adventurer, legendary sailor and writer.

Tristan was a Ibiza regular and sailed around the world many times. He also sailed with his Ibiza friends among them his old buddy writer Peter Kinsley. He also got himself involved in a few heavy bar fights. One of them at Wauna's bar with Don Cameron in the late sixties was quite rough .

SUZY Q K. Suzan Kangas. American artist, painter and writer of poems.Known for her strong and magic ties with the island and the islet of Es Vedra.Did many Ibiza paintings and drawings and was a close friend to several old Ibiza incrowd artists and personas.

BERT. Bert Schierbeek. Dutch writer of the early and golden Ibiza days.He spent time on Ibiza as well as on Formentera. Regular client of Fonda Pepe and friend of most of the other regular incrowd artists.
