IBIZA,DISCO,CLUB AND DJ PARADISE.

THE OLD DAYS AND THE NEW

In the sixties we had the old Lola,s club in the Calle de Barcelona ( this street has changed names) next to what once was Jay's place and not far from Restuarante bistro El Brasero and not far from El Domingo and the gay district with old bars like Incognito's ( at the time) etc. The old days of one of the first disco's on the island Club San Rafael - later became the KU in San Rafael. Not to forget Ricardo Urgell"s Pacha or in the San Antonio area the Playboy or in the Figueretas area the Xaloc, the Anfora in Dalt Vila, the old town of Ibiza aswell as the Black Cheap in downtown Ibiza marina district, etc, etc, etc, the good old sixties and seventies.

The youngest ever DJ in the late sixties working with two oldtimer turntables
in Ibiza's early discos was Lord Sydney,at that time eight years young.
Today Lord Sydney is represented by The Reysenbach Agency
and only does guest appearances for those who can afford it.

Apart from Lord Sydney who was the youngest ever DJ on Ibiza in the sixties, Forbes recently released the ranking of the best-paid DJs in the world. The amounts include sales but also their wages when participating in festivals such as those we offer on DestinationClubbing.com. Here is the top 11 of the highest paid DJ’s:

Calvin Harris
1. Calvin Harris (46 million $)
Calvin Harris’ career has literally exploded last year thanks to his latest album “18th Month” that made us dance throughout the year. Last February, he signed a contract including 70 shows for the Hakkasan Club in Las Vegas.

David Guetta, still one of the most requested DJs in the world, has performed not less than 120 shows. His fame was achieved by his style, crossing electro and pop music, which enabled him to accompany Rihanna during her world tour. However, the French DJ seems to show signs of slowing down.

4. Swedish House Mafia (25 million $)
Sebastian Ingrosso, Axwell and Steve Angello have ended the Swedish House Mafia adventure during the year. Nevertheless, the group reached the top 4 ranking. The three DJs now continue their careers individually.

5. Deadmau5 (21 million $)
The helmeted mouse had a very prolific year, first through events like those at the Hakkasan in Las Vegas where he got paid $200,000 per night and secondly with his label Mau5trap.
