Ibiza island of bohemians, artists, special people and much more! Drinking on Ibiza ...was real drinking! Many bohemian artists were not just alcoholics but, were drinkers with a reason if not, many reasons. Only a few professional drinkers survived the old days. Ibiza without bars or bohemian hideaway bodegas would not have been the same Ibiza for many foreign artists. Many hours of joy were spent in the Ibiza bars at the La Marina area and other areas. Bohemians would also meet frequently at their fincas (if they had one) and enjoy the original absinth or the locally made hierbas (The real one) and other drinks. Catalina's bar was one of those small places specialized in the real Absinth..We repeat the real Absinth! The same thing at Bar El Dorado, although the owner was less entertaining and flex compared to Catalina. Dont look for them, these Bars do not exist anymore.Finito!!!

The small bars were owned by locals and were the perfect hideaways for elite and bohemians during the siesta hours. We remember the young Sydney (See above) who was a great communicator and who knew all the secret paths to the insider bars and places on the island.

As a little boy of eight years old he took many bohemians and artists on bohemian tours and introduced them to these old typical bars and bodegas.

Other regular Ibiza insiders would go for the Gin and tonics, Wodka orange or the Whiskey Coke..When we speak about bohemian drinkers, we refer to those who knew how to enjoy a typical local Ibiza drink not just to full-time alcoholics.
